This a great illustration
showing what it looks like to have a brown
framed solar screen over a white window.
People like the brown frame but they question
it's appearance over / on top of a white window
frame. Typically you would use the brown
frame for your solar screens if you have a brown
framed window, however as illustrated here, the
look of brown on white is not bad. In
fact, it can look quite good. The warning
that I have about a brown frame is that the
frame itself because of the color does get
extremely hot. Whether or not the heat
from the hot brown frame has a bearing on the
window frame itself getting hot, I can't say
with accuracy. The window frame would no
longer be exposed to the sun's direct rays, as
it's being shielded by the frame of the solar
screen, so the heat it would take in would be
strictly from that of absorption from a hot
solar screen frame. With that being said,
I just don't think the brown solar screen frame
getting super hot has that much of a negative
bearing. Never the less, I haven't done
any kind of testing so I don't know for sure.
These screens were
mounted using the die cast metal clips (to
better understand our installation methods
please see our
Videos of How We Install page). These
screens are made from our 90% solar screen
fabric, please see our website to understand
when to use the
90% Solar Screen Fabric and when to use the
80% solar screen fabric.
With the tan window
shutters, the tan frame would have been a fine
look for this installation as well. |
